The Life Skills Course covers the following skills; watch, sit, down, stays, name, come when called, loose leash walking and more. At the end of every class you will learn a new game or trick for you and your dog to have fun with.
It starts with understanding. The first class is for the people only. Our class begins with everyone getting to know each other by sharing one great thing about your dog. We will review the course outline, and give demonstrations of some basic exercises. Having the chance to talk one on one, observe how the training is done and ask questions, all while not having to worry about being interrupted or distracted by your dog will give you a big advantage for what to expect and what will be expected of you in this course. As you can imagine the first class with dogs can be pretty exciting, having some initial training skills as well as a general idea of how the course will be run will make things less overwhelming for you and easier on your dog.
The last class will be our graduation day and graduation certificates will be awarded.
The Life Skills Course is 8 weeks long and includes the following;
- First night information session & question period (people only)
- Life Skills Training Guide with easy step by step instructions
- Welcome Doggy Bag includes a clicker and some other goodies for you and your dog
- Graduation Certificates
- Free Refresher Class coupon upon successful graduation (value of $20.00)
Pre-registration is required! The Life Skills Course is usually booked at least 1 week prior to the start date. We do keep a cancellation list and occasionally have a last minute space available.
Class Times: Thursday evenings from 7pm to 8pm
Cost: $180.00 - Discounts available for rescue dogs and multiple dog homes!
Private Instruction is ideal for people and dogs who need help working on in-home issues. People who desire a little more personal attention or for dogs that can not comfortably work in close proximity of other dogs. Often family and work schedules make attending regular classes challenging at best.
FUR My Friends recommends Adina's K9 Coaching www.k9coach.ca for your private or in-home training needs. Adina's respectful, humane training methods and common sense approach will help you achieve a well behaved dog as easy as 1, 2, 3....

At this time due to scheduling reasons Amy Slaunwhite is only available for Private Instruction for persons adopting hearing or visually impaired dogs. Please contact us for more information about a no-charge consultation for hearing or visually impaired dogs for adopted dogs.
